Israeli VC firm TAU Ventures elevates Inbal Perlman to partner

Israeli venture capital firm TAU Ventures has promoted Inbal Perlman as partner, two years after she joined the firm.

Perlman, who was the vice-president of business development at TAU Ventures, will work alongside managing partner Nimrod Cohen.

TAU Ventures is an investment fund managed by Tel Aviv University. It was established in 2018 by Cohen, in collaboration with the university. TAU works on the same lines as VC funds backed by US universities like MIT, Stanford and Berkeley.

Perlman previously worked with Israel’s Google for Startups, where she was in charge of developing Google’s startup ecosystem in the tiny west Asian country, even as the VC arm of the tech giant offered startups with business and technology support. Her role included providing founders with guidance, access to global investor networks, and mentoring from Google and industry experts.

Before joining Google, Perlman helped lead Re:Tech, an innovation hub for retail and e-commerce technologies that connects Israeli startups to global retailers like ASOS, Ebay and Nike.

TAU manages two funds, a $20-million vehicle that began in 2018 and a $50-million fund that started towards the end of 2021.

The first fund made 18 investments including in companies such as SWIMM, Xtend, Gaviti, Castor, Medorion and others. The second fund has made six investments so far.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Perlman graduated with a degree in political science and government from the Sciences Po Bordeaux in France, before which she was at the Reichman University.
