Indian consumer-focussed venture capital firm Sixth Sense Ventures said Thursday it has hired Ketki Paranjpe as Partner (Investments).
Paranjpe joins Sixth Sense from consumer-focused private equity firm L Catterton, where she worked for 12 years since its inception in Asia in 2009 and was last hearing its India and the Middle East business.
Overall, she has more than 15 years of experience in investment management and corporate advisory across India, Singapore and London.
In her new role, she will focus on driving investments in disruptive consumer companies in high potential categories, Sixth Sense founder and CEO Nikhil Vora said.
“She adds a new dimension to our offering and augments our proposition,” Vora said. “We look forward to leveraging her expertise as we further execute our strategy of backing first-generation entrepreneurs with businesses that disrupt the status quo and address consumer needs more efficiently.”
Paranjpe said that entrepreneurship was on the rise in India and that she was excited to moving into the venture capital space.
Paranjpe is postgraduate in economics from Mumbai University and in economics and finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She started her career as analyst with DVB Bank in London and later worked as a member of the India Investment team at Lehman Brothers before joining private equity firm L Capital in 2009. L Capital joined with Catterton in 2016 to form L Catterton. At the PE firm, Paranjpe managed investments in well-known companies such as PVR Ltd, Fabindia Overseas Pvt. Ltd and Genesis Luxury Fashion Pvt. Ltd.
